Therapy Frequently Asked Questions
How do I know if my child might benefit from OT?Occupational therapy can help children with a wide range of challenges — things like difficulty with handwriting, getting dressed, or using utensils; sensory sensitivities; trouble focusing or regulating emotions; delayed motor skills; or struggles with social interaction. If something feels "off" with your child's development and you're not sure who to call, we're a great first step. We offer free screenings to help you figure out if OT is the right fit.
Do I need a doctor's referral to get started?Yes, a physician's referral is required to begin OT services — but don't let that stop you from reaching out. We help families navigate the referral process. Whether you're not sure how to bring it up with your child's doctor, or you've had trouble getting traction with your PCP, give us a call. We'll walk you through it and help make sure nothing falls through the cracks.
Do you accept insurance?Yes! We accept a number of insurance plans, and we also offer private pay options for families who prefer that route. Insurance plans we currently accept include:
Medicaid / ARKids First, BCBS, United Health, TEFRA, Arkansas PASSE, Municipal Health
Not sure if your plan qualifies? Call us at (870) 565-9770 and we'll help you check.
What does the process look like, start to finish? What services do you offer? Here's how it typically works:
Reach out to us — call or email to share what's going on with your child. There's no wrong way to start this conversation.
Free screening (optional) — if you'd like a professional perspective before committing to a full evaluation, we offer free screenings to help you decide.
Get your referral — we'll help guide you through getting a referral from your child's doctor.
Initial evaluation — we'll do a thorough assessment to understand your child's needs and build a personalized therapy plan.
Therapy begins! — sessions are play-based and child-centered, right here in our space.
What ages do you serve? We offer occupational therapy services for children from newborn and up. If you have a young baby whose development you're curious about, or a school-age child struggling with daily tasks, we'd love to talk.
What if I'm not sure OT is what my child needs? That's exactly what our free screenings are for. You don't have to have everything figured out before you call us. Our therapist, Jocelyn, has over a decade of experience working with children and can help point you in the right direction — even if that direction isn't OT. We'd rather help you find the right answer than have you wonder.
